MY PHILOSOPHY
I am driven by a mission to leave the world a better place that I found it, a desire to improve myself constantly and a passion to create products that can impact people around me.
I am a multi-disciplinary self taught designer with a strong front end programming background. Currently a senior in UCLA, I major in Cognitive Science with a computing specialization, minoring in Digital Humanities and Entrepreneurship. Using a human-centered and data-driven approach, I create innovative solutions that drive positive social impact while maximizing business and user goals. From extensive market research to deep conceptualization, I bring ideas alive and execute products in a timely manner. For every product I create, whether it is digital, physical or 3D, I strive to follow my own design principles: consistency, intentionality, invisibility and simplicity.
Unlike many designers, I didn’t start with design initially. I never would have thought of pursuing Product Design as my career until I took a graduate course last year called Inf Std 272 (Human Computer Interaction) which I learnt basic concepts of building digital products from scratch, extracting knowledge I had in psychology, computer science and design. The dots immediately connected and I was able to connect and apply my diverse learnings from cognitive science to designing various digital products.

I then started to teach myself designing website mockups and doing user research, learning from various online courses like Lynda and General Assembly. Whether it is designing website, creating UI mockups or producing videos, I am driven to contribute my talents to influence people under the intersection of art, business and technology.

DESIGN JOURNEY
The realm of design is still expanding fast. I am looking forward to take theses courses in the upcoming spring and in the near future to grow my design and coding skills. I believe if I want to take my design skills to the next level, coding will be the essential key to achieve that.
